What is Karndean Flooring?

Each plank and tile is designed for the most authentic look possible. They don't have a uniform or manufactured look, and convey all of the lovely characteristics of thier natural material counterparts. Colours are defined of variable shades and tones, to match their real life materials.

Suitable for any room. Karndean is softer, and warmer to the touch than other flooring. It is also easier to clean without the porous qualities of wood and some stone surfaces.

However, this luxury and comfort is certainly not at the expense of it's durability and strengh. Karndean is very hard wearing, using the most durable materials to ensure your floor lasts.

Karndean care guide

 

Karndean Cleaning do's, dont's, and advice.

 

• Do not use household cleaners or bleach-based products to clean your karndean floor. This will potentially make floor slippery, and over time, cause discolouration.

 

• Spills that have the potential to stain (I.e Red wine, coffee, solvent based solutions etc) should be cleaned up as soon as possible, using Karndean Cleaner, to reduce the risk of staining. It is a good idea to pre-treat your Karndean floor with "Karndean Refresh" in the event a spillage should happen, which will help to repel the potential stain.

 

• For stubborn stains, spot clean with undiluted "Karndean Clean" or "Karndean Remove", both of which are available from us to buy. Please get in touch if you require any advice regarding cleaners.

 

• To remove scuff marks, use a small amount of "Karndean Remove" diluted in a little warm water (Approx 1 part cleaner to 5 parts water) Use a soft cloth (or non-abrasive scouring pad for an intense mark) to aid removal of the scuff.

 

• When using Karndean cleaning products, do not allow it to "dry" into the floor as this will cause staining.

 

• Use mats to protect against grit and moisture, particulary in entrances and areas of high traffic (Do not use rubber-backed matts, as this can cause discolouration of the floor)

 

• Avoid any sliding, moving, or dragging of furniture/other objects across the floor. Use protector pads, spare matts, or carpet off-cuts underneath objects you wish to move to prevent scratching the floor.

 

• If you have any heavy furtinture (I.e sofa, dining table) we reccommend using castors underneath the feet to help prevent damage of the Karndean flooring.

 

• Routinely try to remove any dirt or grit on the floor as this can cause scratches, both fine and deep. Use a soft broom. Avoid using steam cleaners or a vacuum, as these may cause damage in themselves to the floor!

 

• Do not clean a new Karndean floor for at least 24 hours after it's installation.
